First work on site, including:

  • Take down veggie net and wires
  • Remove 4x massive concrete blocks (Alan and Phillip did sterling tip duty)
  • Remove and pot of big trees. Lyle took a few. Easy digging out with excav.
  • 1.6t excavator. The 1000mm bucket and ripper were all useful.
  • Scrape mulch into 4m diameter 600 high (sediment control) circle
  • 700 cut and bench. Didn't have enough soil. Needed more marking equipment. Laser level excellent.
  • Removing the X and replace with 4x 1200mm bracket. No enough - to add some more.
  • Moving the very heavy cubby.

On hand were Brett, Josie and Alan, :Luke, John, Phillipa, Maryanne, Phillip, Sophie and Wade, Tom made a guest appearance.

Next time:

  • Water, snack and safety equip station by the sink
  • Tool station to return tools to.
  • More tools (eg. drill, drivers, etc)
  • More hats, glasses and gloves

Brett (6 hours) and Tom helping for an hour or two. Very helpful to unload sheets!

  • Prep site, remove junk
  • Buy materials ready for foundations.

Also checked levels. From the top (AHD 7760) to the lowest point in SW corner it's 700 (RL -700). Then a 360 fall (1:50 over 18m) to the bottom retaining wall which is 700 high.

Did first setout at night so I could see the laser. Use beeping detector in the distance to square the lines. Need to use quality pegs.
